My Creative Space #6

My creative space’s for the foreseeable future will involve crochet, crochet and a little more crochet.  With all the sewing supplies packed up and moved to the new little house, the only crafty things that I have in the house is a few crochet hooks and some wool.  I thinks that I will make it my plan to learn some new crochet skills while it is the only crafty outlet that I have.

Before I packed up all the sewing supplies, I did whip up a little crochet hook holder.

It is little and bright, and a great place to keep all the hooks in one place.

And with my collection of little hooks, we are busy making square after square after square.  I want to make a blanket, and probably needed to use a bigger hook and larger ply yarn.  I did some math, and I need to make up over 200 of these to make the throw in the size I want.  Oh well, at least it will keep me busy and its a nice distraction from keeping the house that is on the market looking like a display home, and gives me something to work towards, as the finished project will look great in our new little home!!

For those of you who have read all the way to the bottom of this post, I would love to offer you a special discount so that you can get crafty, as my crafty endeavours are limited at the moment.

Pop on over to the Miss Milla’s store, type in cspace at the checkout and receive 20% off all orders placed until 20th August.

On this wild, cold wintry day, make sure you pop over to Kootoyoo’s today for some lovely inspiration to brighten your day!!!

My Creative Space # 4

Well, better late than never, and I am posting on a Thursday, which is creative space day!!!, even if it is nearing to a close.

Today, I present a finished project.  This little baby has been a good 12 months in the making.  It got worked on, then shoved to the back of the cupboard, worked on, shoved away again, over and over again, and now it is finished.

Check out more creative space at Kootoyoo this week!

My Creative Space #3

I know, I know, I’ve missed a few weeks, but sometimes life just gets in the way, and pure exhaustion make any creative endeavours impossible.  With the real job being a 5 days a week gig for the last three weeks (with no warning either) and one of the mini’s having surgery, no much got done.  But the recovery has gone well and the week we have had to spend at home has seen a few projects getting completed.

I have been out with the hook, and have nearly finished off the wrapped vest, that was inspired by Kirsty’s slashed vest.  I have followed twoandsix’s pattern and I should have it finished by the end of the day.    This will be the first crochet project that I will have finished that is usable.  (A previous beanie attempt ended up badly, and has now become a video camera cover.)

I have also whipped up a headband for our upcoming wedding in September.  I think I will need to give it a trial run with the hairdo just to make sure its right.

For more creative spaces, head over to Kootoyoo’s.  There is much inspiration this week.

My Creative Space#2…….

Wow, only a day late this time.

This is a quick and easy one.  A cute little girls cross over dress, that I was pattern testing for Little Bird Patterns.  Mixed it up a little, and added a cute vintage button flower.

Mmmm…..I think it turned out ok!!!

Another week gone.

Well, another week has flow on by, and I have not got any crafting done myself.  I am making a pledge to myself, and all out there in the world that craft to make sure I start spending time on projects.  Little completable ones that can be done in a week or two so that I can have some satisfaction at completing something.  When setting up the Miss Milla’s site, I was lucky enough to be able to get to try out some of the fab kits that we have here available for sale, but since then I have been quite slow at crafting.

I headed along to the Stitch’s and Craft show in Melbourne on the Friday last week and was lucky enough to bump in to Claire, from Craft Schmaft, and shamefully admitted that I had not tried out any of her cute kits or patterns yet.  Right, put that at the top of the list!!! I also had a brief chat with Jodie from Ric Rac, and will have to keep in touch with her as I would love to see some of her products in the Miss Milla’s store.  While wandering around there I also visited the You Sew Girl stand and picked up two new purse kits from the wonderfully talented Nicole Mallalieu Designs.  Her stall was amazing and the advice, assistance and wonderful energy of the staff working at her stand was inspirational.

I am so glad I decided to jump in and enter the wonderful craft world, and look forward to getting to know all these inspirational people more.

To help with the regular blogging and crafting, I am going to begin to attempt to join in Kootoyoo’s weekly My Creative Space……let’s just see how I go!!

Gee…I have been slow & Congratulations!!

Well, time is rushing by at a ridiculous pace and the update that I was meant to put up at the end of last month, has taken over a whole month to get posted!!!! The giveaway last month was drawn, and Kelly from Queensland was the lucky winner and scored herself some fab bits and pieces to inspire her craftiness.  I hope she is enjoying the gifts she received and that she has found the time to make either some great glass pendants or whip up a new bag.

I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming stitches and craft show that will be held over Melbourne this coming weekend, and am looking forward to meeting some of the lovely people that make and design the get kits that we stock here at Miss Milla’s.
