Life at home with a 7 week old baby is great, but the days can be long and I feel like I need something to keep my mind ticking along. And while I am at home on maternity leave, I have grand plans of getting lots of sewing and crafting done. And now that Felicity is 7 weeks old, and our days can be a little more predicable at times, I decided to sign up to join in with the Umberella Prints Trimmings challenge.
This is a great way to get you to challenge yourself creativley, and also to get you to think of alternitive ways that you could utilize your own sewing scraps.
So I am going to put my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with.
Here is the selection I have to work with.
Why not challenge yourself too. Head over to Umbrella prints for all the details. Find them here.

Life with baby Felicity is going along nicely at the moment. She is a very content little baby, and while she is happy and settled, I am spending too much time on the computer looking at patterns and bookmarking all the lovely things that I would love to make for her. I am also filling my days just looking at her, cause she is just too darn cute!
All my current unfinished projects seem to have been forgotten about. Except maybe the baby quilt I started, and did not finish before I packed up my sewing things, in preparation for their move my new creative space.
An updated pic. JUST TOO CUTE!!
Here are some of the places I have found inspiration for cute baby things to sew. I think that my vintage sheet stash will be getting a work out. I am still hoping to master knitting too at some stage, so that she can wear some cute little hand knits.
Made By Rae: has a great range of patterns. Not all just dresses.
Prudent Baby: great, modern site.
Retro Mummy: always inspiring. Even more so now that we are a family of 7 too.

Wow. I have not blogged for such a long time, and had began to wonder if I ever would again.
This little shop began, and then I went on the get a real job, and this little store and all things crafty seemed to get a bit forgotten about. But I have been working on something new, and I think that this may make my focus come back to craft and the shop.
This is what I have been working on….
This picture is from about 12 weeks pregnant, but I am now about 24 weeks along, and it is going so so fast.
I have lots of WIP that I would love to get finished before the new addition arrives, and of course there are lots of little baby things that I would like to make, so I am hoping to get some more energy so I can work of things.
Hopefully I will be checking in much more often.

I am love, love loving this song at the moment. It is constantly in my head.
Over the weekend, not much got done in the way of household chores. A few loads of washing were put on, but that is only because I did not have to spend too much time away from the sewing machine.
The reason was to turn these pieces of fabric…….
into a quilt top…….
(sorry for bad pics, all photos have to be taken inside due to the wet weather here)
Now, all I have to do is hunt down some backing fabric (I know what I want and can not find enough of it anywhere!!!!), and then I am going to hand quilt it.
I am super keen to get this finished, as it is freezing where we live, and I can not see it getting warmer any time soon, and would love to have it on the bed this winter.
So, I am off to keep searching the internet to hunt down the backing fabric, and then to get stitching!!!
